second night

There are all sorts of advantages in having Barry in the cast. He is a terrific actor, and we all learn a great deal from him. He is a lovely person, and fun to be with. His name brings in an audience, and he has friends who will come to see the show, who would not normally come to a University theatre. We've had quite a few members of the Shakespeare Festival in already, and that has to be good for the student actors - they are getting a chance to showcase their talents.

I was quite pleased with how it went tonight, but I shall be even happier at this time tomorrow, when I can look forward to having four Lear-free days.
